The Partnership
The Office of Public Affairs is responsible for the public diplomacy activities of U.S. Embassy Belgrade such as media relations, cultural and educational activities, and through the services of the Information Resource Center. It administers and conducts information, educational exchange, and cultural programs for the United States Government overseas and provides public affairs advice and support to the ambassador and to other officials at the embassy.
Because personal nature of exchange programs, the U.S.-Serbian partnership is perhaps best reflected in the educational exchange programs coordinated by the Office of Public Affairs, many in collaboration with partners such as World Learning, American Councils, and the International Academic Center. Every year dozens of Serbia’s future leaders spend an academic year in the United States and return with not only an appreciation of another culture, but with a greater willingness and ability to contribute to the development of Serbia.
