Nonimmigrant Visas
VISITING U.S.A.
If You are Visiting Temporarily
Nonimmigrant visas are for people who wish to go to the U.S. on a temporary basis for tourism, business, temporary work, study, or medical treatment.
Please plan ahead. If you know you are going to travel to the U.S., you can apply weeks, or even months ahead. We strongly encourage you to wait to purchase plane tickets until you have a valid visa. You do not need a ticket at the time of the interview.
Applicants for nonimmigrant visas in Montenegro can now choose to make an appointment in Podgorica. Please note that visa processing capabilities in Podgorica are limited. Montenegro applicants are free to continue to apply in Belgrade. For making an appointment in Belgrade, please follow the instructions on these pages.
You should be aware that a visa does not guarantee admission into the United States. CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) may deny your admission, and also limit the period of time you are authorized to remain in the United States.
If CBP authorizes your admission to the United States at the designated port of entry, you will receive a stamped Form I-94, Record of Arrival-Departure. If you wish to stay beyond the time indicated on the Form I-94, you may apply for an extension by filing Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, with USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services).
If you lose your Form I-94, you may apply for a replacement by filing a Form I-102, Application for Replacement/Initial Nonimmigrant Arrival/Departure Record.

I-94 Departure Card
-
If you have left the United States and are still in possession of the I-94 or I-94W it is in your best interest to forward it to the appropriate authorities so that your record is corrected and that you do not experience any problems on future travel to the United States as a result.
It is very important that you complete the back of the card listing the port of departure and date of departure from the United States and the carrier/flight information. The I-94 or I-94W together with a letter of explanation and evidence of your departure from the U.S. should be sent to:
DHS-CBP SBU
1084 South Laurel Road
London, Kentucky 40744
USA
Do not mail the I-94/I-94W to the Embassy!
