In celebration of reaching 20,000 fans on the U.S. Embassy Belgrade Facebook page, eight Facebook and Twitter fans were invited to visit the Embassy, where they toured the facility and enjoyed American snacks and informal conversation.

Ambassador Warlick received a medal for the USG contribution which consisted of five incubators procured in the US via the Office of Defense Cooperation. With a total value of 50,000 USD, it was one of the largest donations to the campaign.

On January 5, U.S. Embassy Belgrade hosted a holiday gift-giving event with the children of the Center for Children Without Parental Care “Dragutin Filipovic- Jusa.” Members of the Embassy Community purchased gifts for the orphanage’s thirty-one children and presented them to the children in a holiday celebration at the Embassy two days before Orthodox Christmas.

Groundbreaking of a Reconstruction Project in Pranjani
$700,000 donation by the U.S. Department of Defense will be used to complete the building of the “Ivo Andric” elementary School gymnasium and to construct an annex with indoor toilets that will connect the two existing school buildings.
